- Algorithms & Programming (AP) — the largest strand at grade 1: following and creating algorithms, variables as named boxes, sequencing and repetition, decomposition, storyboarding, giving credit, debugging, and explaining your choices with first, second, third (1.AP.A.01, 1.AP.V.01, 1.AP.C.01, 1.AP.M.01, 1.AP.PD.01–04).
- Impacts of Computing (IC) — technology at work and at home, and two full units on staying safe and kind online (1.IC.CU.01, 1.IC.SI.01, 1.IC.SLE.01).
Most K-2 "coding" resources only cover algorithms. A real curriculum covers the whole picture — including the digital-citizenship standards many packs skip entirely.
