Useful Tools – Zettelkasten

As I am working on my Zettelkasten, I am starting to see growth in certain content. One of these involves useful tools. Useful tools are used to reduce friction, increase efficiency and remain as simplistic as possible. This is not really easy when you consider the multiple factors involved in today’s requested tasks.

In today’s workplace, each individual must find their own effective way to remain in control of all requested tasks. Therefore it is relied on the individual to find something that works, in order to maintain this control. Enter useful tools to help facilitate this need. While many tools exist, the correct tool must be used for the particular need. This requires the individual to have the reasoning skills to learn the tool and understand which tool is for the necessary tasks.

If the tools are too complicated to use, it will cause friction and brain drain, rather than helping the individual to achieve the goal(s). Tools in of themselves should not only be simple to use but reduce complexity to the task at hand. Additionally, as more tools are in use, they must work in synchronicity, otherwise disastrous results will occur, causing friction, time-loss, and frustration. Tools of themselves become external structures to complete our tasks.

The reality is we need an external structure to compensate for the inundated information and requested tasks. This external structure is our useful tool selection. The Zettelkasten Method is just one tool to meet those needs. I will be working on providing my experience, as I continue to work with this useful tool.
