These purposeful fallacies are used to manipulate the audience. The individual tends to generalize with a broad stroke, without having all the arguments answered.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-3f60019 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"3f60019\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-8de2a7e\" data-id=\"8de2a7e\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2ce6920 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2ce6920\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Distortion<\/strong> is when\u00a0<span style=\"font-style: normal; color: #242729; font-family: Arial, 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 15px;\">a\u00a0<\/span>false statement of fact<span style=\"font-style: normal; color: #242729; font-family: Arial, 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 15px;\">\u00a0which is\u00a0<\/span>believed to be true<span style=\"font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; color: #242729; font-family: Arial, 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 15px;\">. This can be internally through cognitive distortion, or externally through a social group agreeing on a lie. Fortunately, for the external example, we can critically look at evidence and confirm if it is true.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; color: #242729; font-family: Arial, 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 15px;\">\u00a0When we fall into the cognitive distortion, we believe what are mind is telling us, even it if is false. It normally is a\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #4d5156; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;\">habitual way of thinking that is often inaccurate and negatively biased. A cycle difficult to break. Some occur on purpose to pull in the audience to their desired action. Others occur by habit, such as cognitive distortion.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Either way, the individual must step back and critically review what is being conveyed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I cover and go into detail on the 5 Methods of Critical Thinking in another.
