Providing a clean slate, while understanding where technology is advancing, one can apply an easier method to upgrade accordingly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Enter Neom<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Neom is minimum $500 billion dollar investment to bring the futuristic vision into reality. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"641\" height=\"476\" src=\"http:\/\/infobymattcole.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/neom_landscape.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-251\" srcset=\"https:\/\/infobymattcole.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/neom_landscape.jpg 641w, https:\/\/infobymattcole.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/neom_landscape-600x446.jpg 600w, https:\/\/infobymattcole.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/neom_landscape-300x223.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 641px) 100vw, 641px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Highlights or Expectations<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Saudi Arabia is building a futuristic mega-city called Neom deep in a desert bordering the Red Sea.<\/li><li>The state has pledged at least $500 billion to make it happen, and is soliciting further investment.<\/li><li>Blueprints obtained by the Wall Street Journal detail wild plans for artificial rain, a fake moon, robotic maids, and holographic teachers.<\/li><li>Phase one is due for completion in 2020.<\/li><li>Saudi Arabia says will be 33 times the size of New York City.<\/li><li>Planned 16-borough city on the Red Sea coast in the northwestern Saudi province of Tabuk.<\/li><li>Neom is a portmanteau of the Greek word neos, meaning &#8220;new,&#8221; and mustaqbal, the Arabic word for &#8220;future.&#8221;<\/li><li>Neom is supposed to draw on &#8220;cloud seeding&#8221; technology to make artificial clouds which will produce more rainfall than naturally possible in the desert.<\/li><li>The Red Sea coastline will be altered, according to the plans, with glow-in-the-dark sand added to its beaches.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"636\" height=\"399\" src=\"http:\/\/infobymattcole.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/flyingtaxis.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-250\" srcset=\"https:\/\/infobymattcole.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/flyingtaxis.jpg 636w, https:\/\/infobymattcole.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/flyingtaxis-600x376.jpg 600w, https:\/\/infobymattcole.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/flyingtaxis-300x188.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 636px) 100vw, 636px\" \/><figcaption>A drone taxi during an exhibition on &#8216;Neom&#8217;, a new business and industrial city, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, October 25, 2017.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Flying vehicles are finally coming to us. For those old enough, the Jestson&#8217;s cartoon glimpse and promised us flying cars. Neom will have those. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Due to being a central technology hub, Neom will make e-sports a central world hub, along with the most advanced medical technology. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Additional Expectations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Dystopian surveillance<\/strong>: In the city of the future, cameras, drones, and facial recognition will be ubiquitous. The aim is only to keep citizens safe, of course! <\/li><li><strong>Genetic-engineering<\/strong>: Neom would host a genetic-modification project of some sorts. The <em>WSJ <\/em>quotes plans from Japanese tech giant Softbank to create \u201ca new way of life from birth to death reaching genetic mutations to increase human strength and IQ.\u201d<\/li><li><strong>Robots everywhere<\/strong>: Robot \u201cmaids\u201d would do your chores for you; robot cage fights would be staged for your amusement; and an amusement park full of robot dinosaurs would make for a fun day out at the weekend.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Additionally<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Neom is derived from two words. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Neo<\/strong> meaning New and <strong>m<\/strong> being the abbreviation Mostaqbal,  &#8216;Future.&#8217; In essence, Neom is built for the &#8216;New Future&#8217; or New World. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The size is an estimated 10,232 mi2. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The current CEO of Neom is Klaus Kleinfeld. Ex-Chairman and Ex CEO of Arconic, president of the NEOM project in Saudi Arabia. Klaus-Christian Kleinfeld (born 6 November 1957) was chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of Arconic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is expected this New Future will be the home and workplace for more than a million citizens from around the world.
