Ask Why

Ask Why

One of the bigger skills I tried to impress on my kids was to ask, Why. This three-letter word opens all doors. It can lead you down rabbit holes but also brings light to the hidden motivation.

I said this before in earlier podcasts, but it needs to be reiterated. To understand is to perceive the intended meaning, or view something in a particular way. This particular way is the interpretation that lies under motivation, reasoning, and allows the individual to expand.

When Einstein comments on any fool can know, his words can be applied today more than before. With the constant narrative being forced on us, and the ever-increasing internet expansion, many people ‘know.’ Yet, they take little time to ask, why.

The three-letter word makes many being asked, uncomfortable. It forces the narrator to explain and provide meaning to the narrative. It will ultimately shine a light on areas, causing doubt.

When Einstein conveys the point to understand, he means we as individuals must push ourselves to those dark areas containing the unknown.

Finally, understanding is only as fruitful as it is shared among others.
